Dovi and Kelo's Adventure

A Colourful Visitor

It was a bright and cheerful morning in DoviDovi Valley.

Golden sunlight slipped between the leaves, tiny birds sang from the trees, and the garden behind Dovi's home was filled with colourful flowers.

Dovi was exploring the garden when something suddenly fluttered past his nose.

He stopped.

Two little wings danced through the air.

They were blue, pink, yellow and purple, sparkling softly in the morning light.

Dovi's eyes grew wide.

“Momi, look!”

Momi smiled.

“It’s a butterfly!”

Dovi tilted his head.

“Butterfly?”

“Yes,” said Momi gently. “A beautiful butterfly.”

Dovi smiled.

“Butterfly!”

And just like that, Dovi had discovered a brand-new word.

Follow Those Wings!

The little butterfly fluttered away.

Dovi followed.

Not too fast. Not too close.

Tap, tap, tap went Dovi's little feet along the garden path.

The butterfly landed on a bright yellow flower.

“Yellow!” said Dovi.

Then it flew to a red flower.

“Red!”

A moment later it rested on a beautiful blue flower.

“Blue!”

Dovi laughed happily.

Everywhere the butterfly went, another colour seemed to be waiting.

The garden suddenly felt like a giant rainbow just waiting to be discovered.

Where Did Kelo Go?

Then, without warning, the butterfly disappeared.

Dovi looked left.

Nothing.

He looked right.

Nothing.

He peeked behind a leaf.

No butterfly.

“Where are you?” Dovi whispered.

The flowers moved ever so slightly.

Dovi crept closer.

One tiny step.

Then another.

Suddenly...

Peek-a-boo!

The butterfly popped out from behind a big flower.

Dovi giggled.

He had found his little friend.

From that moment on, the colourful butterfly had a name.

Kelo.

The Tiniest Landing Place

Kelo fluttered around Dovi in happy little circles.

Dovi stood very still.

He didn't want to frighten his new friend.

Kelo flew closer...

and closer...

until the tiny butterfly gently landed right on the tip of Dovi's nose.

Dovi crossed his eyes, trying to see Kelo.

His nose began to wiggle.

Once.

Twice.

“Oh... oh...”

ACHOO!

Dovi sneezed.

Kelo shot into the air.

For one tiny moment Dovi looked surprised.

Then he began to laugh.

Kelo circled above his head as if she were laughing too.

See You Soon, Kelo!

Higher and higher Kelo flew into the warm blue sky.

Dovi waved both hands.

“Bye-bye, Kelo!”

Kelo fluttered once around the garden before flying toward the colourful flowers in the distance.

Dovi watched until the tiny wings disappeared.

Momi came beside him.

Dovi looked up at her with a big smile.

“Butterfly!”

Momi smiled proudly.

“Yes, Dovi. Butterfly.”

That morning Dovi had learned more than a new word.

He had discovered that sometimes the smallest things can lead to the biggest adventures.
