A BRAND-NEW MORNING
Morning arrived softly in Dovi’s world.
Golden sunlight slipped between the trees and painted the little family home with warm, bright colours.
The flowers opened.
The leaves danced in the morning breeze.
And somewhere nearby...

A cheerful rooster welcomed the new day.
The chickens were already awake too.

The farm animals were ready for the new day.

High above the little house, Melo flew through the bright blue sky.

Dovi hurried to the kitchen.
Momi and Povi were preparing breakfast.

Dovi hurried over and peeked inside.
The chicken coop was warm and cozy.
There was soft straw everywhere.
Dovi looked carefully.
Then his eyes grew wide.
Something was hiding in the straw.
ONE... TWO!
Dovi reached into the soft nest.
One egg!
He carefully picked it up.
Then he looked again.
Another egg!
Dovi counted proudly.
“One...”
“Two!”
Two little eggs!
Dovi held them very carefully.
Eggs could break, so there would be no running this time.

Momi was waiting.
