Dovi Goes to the Forest

A New Path into the Forest

It is a beautiful day in Dovi’s world.

The sun shines through the trees as Dovi and Momi walk toward a big, green forest.

Everything feels new to Dovi.

Tall trees sway gently above him. Colorful flowers grow beside the path, and tiny sounds come from between the leaves.

Dovi looks left.

Then right.

There is so much to discover!

Suddenly, Dovi hears a little sound nearby.

“Woof! Woof!”

Dovi turns around.

A small, friendly puppy is looking at him.

It is Hav Hav!

Dovi smiles.

He has found a new friend.

Together, Dovi and Hav Hav begin exploring the forest.

A Purple Surprise

As they walk between the trees, Dovi notices something hiding among the leaves.

Berries!

Some are bright red and some are dark and juicy.

Dovi looks closer.

He cannot resist.

Yum!

He tastes the berries.

Then another.

And another!

Hav Hav watches curiously.

But something funny has happened.

Dovi’s mouth is purple!

His lips, his cheeks and his happy little smile are covered in berry juice.

Hav Hav tilts his head and looks at Dovi.

Dovi has no idea why his new friend is staring at him.

What a funny forest surprise!

Something High in the Trees

Dovi and Hav Hav continue deeper into the forest.

Soon Dovi sees something orange high above them.

A delicious-looking fruit is hanging from a tall branch.

Dovi stretches up.

Not high enough.

He stands as tall as he can.

Still not high enough!

Dovi looks up at the fruit.

How can he reach it?

Then the ground seems to move gently.

A huge shadow appears beside them.

Dovi and Hav Hav look up.

And up.

And up!

A gentle giant dinosaur with a very long neck is standing beside them.

The enormous dinosaur reaches toward the high branches and helps Dovi get the fruit.

Dovi is delighted.

Sometimes a big friend can make a difficult problem very easy.

Goodbye, Big Friend!

After spending a little time together, the gentle giant must continue on his way.

He slowly walks deeper into the forest.

Dovi raises his little hand.

“Goodbye!”

Hav Hav gives a happy little bark.

Their enormous new friend disappears between the trees.

Dovi watches until he can no longer see him.

Today he has discovered that friends can come in every shape and size.

Time to Go Home

Nearby, Momi has been collecting fruit.

Her basket is now filled with colorful berries and fresh oranges.

She calls Dovi.

It is time to go home.

Dovi and Hav Hav run back to her.

Dovi looks once more at the beautiful forest behind him.

He met Hav Hav.

He tasted berries.

He found fruit high in the trees.

And a gentle giant helped him when he could not reach it.

What a day!

Dovi, Momi and Hav Hav begin their journey home together.

The forest becomes quiet behind them.

But for Dovi, this is only the beginning of many new adventures with his new little friend.
